IMAA WENT THROUGH SOME BIG CHANGES IN 2018. NEW IMAA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR CALVIN LEE REFLECTS ON HIS FIRST 6 MONTHS AT THE ASSOCIATION

Greetings IMAA Family,

By now I hope that I have had the opportunity to meet most of the members that I didn’t know from my previous life with INDOT and  in the construction industry and to rekindle some old relationships from the past. I am thrilled to be a part of this organization and strive every day to not only help to continue the success that my predecessor Robert was able to achieve as Executive Director of this great organization but help to carry it into the future by taking it to a new level with new perspectives and fresh ideas.

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with all of the IMAA committees and learn of the great work that each is producing in terms of helping to further the mission of the association as a whole. I think we all can recognize that the work that the committees achieve on a regular basis has a monumental effect on our member companies and their employees, especially when we consider items such as INDOT relations, educational and networking opportunities as well as overall member engagement. I look forward to our continued success in these areas going forward.

As we also move forward with the installation of new leadership for the association with new directors and executive committee members, we are very appreciative to those who have served and served well under the leadership of our outgoing President Mr. Gene Yarkie, Rieth-Riley Construction Co. It is my goal to remain focused on the factors that have been near and dear to the members with emphasis on safety, environmental stewardship, future leader development and the financial success of the association and the member companies.

So I ask that we all stay close to the association and remain poised to use our collective voice when required, promote the industry in a positive light where good qualified and skilled workers will recognize the opportunity for great careers, and work closely to tackle our common industry challenges together.

Thank you to the IMAA staff members Ron and Katie and to the members for your warm welcome of my family and me to the industry. I am excited for the opportunity to work and grow in the aggregate industry and for the opportunity to build new friendships. I hope to see you all at the NSSGA and Agg1 event in February as we kick off the week with IMAA specific events on the 11th.

Best Wishes, Calvin Lee
