Safety Committee

The Safety Committee looks for opportunities to promote safety in the workplace. The committee was instrumental in supplying information to the Legislative Committee to establish a blasting law in Indiana.  They continue to be involved in the licensing, training and education pieces of the law. The committee has been greatly involved in helping to start a new local chapter of Holmes Safety Association. They have also worked closely with the Legislative Committee on the annual Washington D.C. Fly-in, bringing industry concerns to the Mine Safety and Health Administration and Indiana representatives in Washington.  They continue to sponsor the annual Safety Awards Luncheon which recognizes member locations for safety achievements each year. They meet 3-4 times per year.
